I became aware of "Steampunk" in the summer of 2010. I was fascinated with the imagination and creativity of people who imagined a world without a lot of our modern conveniences (or at least in the form they are now). The use of gears and steam power in a world where Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, Arthur Conan Doyle and Mary Shelley were the frame work of a fascinating Victorian-like environment.
Later, I saw some of the lovely jewelry people designed that took the Steampunk theme to things to wear. I soon started to put some watch gears and vintage jewelry together. Not only did I enjoy pushing my mind to be creative, but people said they liked what I created.
So "Steampunkonista" was born. I hope people enjoy my jewelry as much as I loved creating it.
